Radhakrishnan while inaugurating the 7th International Documentary
and film festival of Kerala at kairali
theatre today at 6.30. Padmasree S Priyadarsan, Chairman of Kerala State
Chalachitra Academy (KSCA) welcomed the guests. ‘Independent documentaries are
what the festival zooms into’ said artistic director Beena paul, while
introducing the festival to the audience. ’Independent documentaries are Independent
voices’ added Rajiv Mehrotra, the managing trustee of Public Service Broad
Casting Trust while rendering the keynote address. The Festival catalogue was
given to Rajiv Mehrotra by Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan. The Festival
bulletin was received by actress Mythili from director Priyadrasan. Deepa Nair, MD, Kerala State Film Development Coporation(
KSFDC) felicitated over the function. S Rajendran Nair, Executive Director of
IDSFFK and secretary KSCA concluded the ceremony with vote of thanks. A silent
prayer was offered on the demise of director Sasi kumar, JC Daniel award
winner. The opening film ‘Nelson
Mandela, The myth and me’ and ‘La Estanica’
was screened to a packed audience after the inaugural function.
