Scientists and Filmmakers are Poles Apart

Science should be a verb not a noun says K P Madhu at Second Interactive session on “Challenges and Opportunities for Science Film making in India” at Keys hotel in Trivandrum today.
The lead speakers of the session were KP Madhu from Indian Institution of Science and Research on the topic “Towards a better coverage of Science in the Visual Media in India” He said that Scientist are not interested in cinema, rather Film makers are not interested in science. That is the reason why science films are not topping up these days.
            Sivakumar, Film director and faculty of LV Prasad Film and Television Academy gave a presentation on “Story telling and Science filmmaking”.

A Discussion was rounded up by Nandan Kudhyadi, Director, and ISB&M School of Media on ‘visualizing biographical Docu-Drama’ Where as T.V. Sajeev Head of Forest Entomology in Kerala Forest Research Institution gave up thoughts on Science Film making in India. The discussion was lead out by Farhat Basir Khan, Professor at the AJK Mass Communication research centre, jamia Milia Islamia University.
