7th IDSFFK - Closing Ceremony - Awards

7th International Documentary & Short Film Festival of Kerala


The Fiction Jury consisting of Ms. Golda Sellam, Mr. Roysten Abel and Mr. Navroze Contractor has recommended the following Awards:

The Best Campus Film: Salt Water directed by MA Students of SJCC College (Ammu S. Rajasekharan, Anju S. Raj, Mahisha Mohan, Naithik Mathew Eapen, Remo Benjamin Peter, Remya Mathew, Anand Ajayaghosh, Anoop T.M., Augustin Veets, Krishal Janardhanan, Sarath, Saritha Balan Pillai)

Best Music Video: You are Rot directed by Christo Tomy

Best Animation Film: True Love Story directed by Gitanjali Rao

Best Short Fiction: The Puppet/Tamaash directed by Satyanshu & Devanshu Singh

Special Mention: Fishy Magic/Jaadui  Machchi  directed by Ektara Collective



The Non Fiction Jury consisting of Ms. Hong Hyosook, Mr. Susie Tharu and Mr. Harsh Mander has recommended the following Awards:

Best Short Documentary: Babai directed by Kavita Datir and Amit Sonawane

Special Mention: Trash/Kolkatar Guptokatha directed by Sougata Bhattacharyya


Best Long Documentary: Chronicles of a Temple Painter directed by Shravan Katikaneni

2 Special Mentions: Candles in the Wind directed by Kavita Bahl and Nandan Saxena
                                Goonga Pehelwan: Vivek Chaudhary, Prateek Gupta & Mit Jani



Award for the Best Documentary Cinematographer instituted by eminent cinematographer Mr. Navroze Contractor, a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/- and a certificate goes to : Saumyananda Sahi for the film Rangbhoomi directed by Kamal Swaroop

IAWRT Award of Excellence for the most gender sensitive film with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 and a certificate: Will this Change directed by Anurupa Prakash & Lok Prakash

Awards at the 7th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala :

a) Best Long Documentary (40mins and above) with a cash prize of Rs 1.00 lakhs and a certificate.


b) Best Short Documentary (under 40mins) with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/ and a certificate 


c) Best Short Fiction (upto 69 mins) with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/ and a certificate


d) Best Animation with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/ and a certificate. 


e) Best Music Video with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/ and a certificate


f) Best Campus Film (20min and below) with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000/ and a certificate to the creative team.



IAWRT Award of Excellence to the most gender sensitive film (either short fiction or documentary). The award would go to the film director of any gender. It will carry a cash prize of Rs.20,000 and a certificate.



Award for the Best Documentary cinematographer donated by eminent cinematographer Mr Navroze Contractor: Cash prize of Rs.15, 000 and a certificate.
